6th Grade Counselor
Hi NMS families! I was born and raised in the Middlebury area and I think that it’s pretty cool that I work in the school that I once attended. Here at NMS I am a grade-level counselor, but I am also in charge of lots of other fun things. I went to Indiana University and am a loyal HOOSIER! I have 4 awesome kids of my own (2 sons, a step-son and 1 daughter) and the cutest mini Goldendoodle that you ever did see that keep me pretty busy outside of school. My favorite activities are watching my kids play sports, hanging with friends and family, going to the beach, as well as watching movies and tennis. I also enjoy meeting new people so make sure to stop and introduce yourself. I hope you love it here at NMS as much as I do!
About Mrs. Ness
7th Grade Counselor
I was raised in a small community in upstate New York and moved to the mid-west in 1986. I live in White Pigeon with my husband, Steven Post and our daughter. I started working as a counselor at NMS in 2000 after 7 years in Elkhart Schools and am thrilled to be a Raider! It is so rewarding to see students growth and development as I work with them through their 6th grade year to 8th grade years. In my spare time I enjoy watching my daughter play softball, spending time with family and being outside.

8th Grade Counselor
My undergraduate degree is from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg VA. and my masters degree in Education/School Counseling is from Indiana University of South Bend. I have been employed by Middlebury Community Schools for 12 years. Prior to this I was employed by Goshen Community Schools for 12 years. I have worked with high school, middle school and elementary school students but love working with middle school student the most. My family and I live in Middlebury and my children attend Middlebury Community Schools. I enjoy watching basketball and soccer and also playing soccer. I am a Colts fan!
About Ms. Bernth
Counseling Department Secretary
I have spent most of my life in the Middlebury area. I am a NHS graduate. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from IU. Although I have spent most of my career in sales in the financial services industry, I always wished I would have been a teacher. I have been working as the Counseling Secretary since 2015. I have three boys, two of who are in the Marines and one still in school. I love being here as a part of the Counseling team and NMS.

School Nurse
Good Day Northridge Middle School Community! I am Patsy (Yoder) Stauffer. I have lived most of my life in Middlebury. I went through the MCS system and graduated from Northridge High School. I am a Goshen College, Nursing School Graduate. I am excited about being a part of the School System where I grew up. My husband and I settled in Middlebury because we believe this is the perfect place to raise a family! We have 3 amazing children. We enjoy going to the sporting events offered by MCS. We attend and are active at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church. I will try to attend to the health needs of each student. I will work with you specifically to achieve the best care for your child.
